Integrating the concepts of carpentry and design arts, Artpentry projects are hands-on experiences that train YA/YA artists in designing and painting furniture, creating functional artwork, and organizing public exhibits.

For the first Artpentry project YA/YA artists developed, designed and built from scratch an imaginative yet functional 24-piece childrens bedroom furniture set using the theme of "Fantasy Nature." Once completed, the entire collection was exhibited at the Louisiana Children's Museum.

More recently, YA/YA went back to one of its original mediums with their "Chairs Again" show. The project allowed all of the current YA/YA's to reconnect to the history and tradition of the organization, as designing and painting chairs has been a common experience for every generation of YA/YA artists.
