How We YA/YA

YA/YA at the Guggenheim

This year, a team of YA/YA artists was selected to create set pieces for the Guggenheim Museum's annual production of Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf." The performances will take place in the Guggenheim Theater in New York, December 10-14.

The YA/YA Guggenheim Team: Jourdan Barnes (YA '06), Science and Math Charter School; Kawayne Powell (YA '07), McDonogh 35 High School; Paul Wright (YA '06), McMain High School; Rondell Crier (YA '90), Creative Director; Rontherin Ratliff (YA '93), Studio Manager.

Peter & The Wolf is commissioned by Works & Process, the performing arts program at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and will be performed December 10-14, 2009. Visit the web link.

On October 29, the YA/YA Board of Directors hosted a "Road to the Guggenheim" event to celebrate this exciting commission and raise travel funds for the artists. Signed prints of the original sketches, as seen below, are available for sale ($40 each) through the YA/YA Studio. Call (504) 529-3306 for more information, or email info@yayainc.com.
