YA/YA
Welcomes two new staff members!
YA/YA's
new Executive Director, Richard Metzger, took on his role in
August of this year. Richard graduated from The Arts Center
College of Design in Sacremento, California with a BFA in Film.
In 1998 he moved to Abilene, Texas and assumed the role of
Executive Director at the Center for Contemporary Arts. Richard
took this small arts organization and elevated its arts education
program to one of the highest ranking programs in Texas. After
spending eight years in Texas, Richard decided to refresh himself
with taking on a different organization. So in August, he moved
to New Orleans and took on the position of Executive Director
for our very own YA/YA Inc. In the past four months, Richard
has embraced New Orleans and its culture and has willingly
accepted it as his home. He is completely committed to the
rebuilding and revitalization of not only YA/YA, but New Orleans
as a whole. Read Richard's
welcome letter.
Shortly
after Richard began, he searched and found his new Office Manager,
Megg Lamb. Megg, a New Orleans native, graduated from LSU with
a BA in Advertising. Since then, she has worked in various
creative fields, and has extensive experience in working with
children having taught at different summer camps since she
was seventeen. Megg is now very excited to be working with
YA/YA and is in training to become the Development Director.
