Appearance on the TODAY Show "Lend a Hand" segment

YA/YA was featured on NBC's TODAY show on Friday, April 2, 2004. This TODAY show segment is a follow-up story to YA/YA's appearance on the TODAY show in 2003 when Al Roker made a surprise visit to YA/YA with a cornucopia of gifts, including an eighteen-wheeler loaded with $25,000 worth of materials and equipment from Sears.

YA/YA was one of five fortunate U.S. charities recognized by Al Roker's "Lend a Hand" annual program. After September 11th, many charities around the country suffered from a lack of donations, so in January 2002 the TODAY show kicked off a week of giving called "Lend a Hand Today" when Al Roker traveled the country to lend a helping hand to organizations in need.

In this follow-up segment, Mr. Roker made a return visit to YA/YA to see how the gifts impacted YA/YA and made a difference in the lives of New Orleans' youth artists.
