YA/YA's mission is to empower creative young people to become successful adults. We do this by providing educational experiences in the arts and entrepreneurship to New Orleans-area youth, and by fostering and supporting their ambitions.

JUST SAY...HOO/RA!

Thanks to EVERYONE who made last month's Just Say YA/YA event a huge success! We exceeded our fundraising goal, sold lots artwork on behalf of our artists...and had a great time at the party!

A huge thank-you goes to Allen Toussaint, event Co-Chairs Cathy Bienvenu and Bev Church, Patron Chair Kay Kerrigan, and all of our 2010 Patrons. Thanks also to Qiana Wiggins of Shell Exploration, and Guest Artist Zawadi Kirksey-Lamb, for helping to unveil our "Coming Home" mural honoring Plaquemines Parish.

If you missed the fun last night, you can still find YA/YA artwork for sale around town throughout the summer. Gallery Bienvenu is hosting a YA/YA group show until July 31; Pippen Lane is currently featuring YA/YA children's pieces; and Deutsch, Kerrigan, Stiles will host YA/YA in their lobby at the corner of Julia and Magazine Streets for White Linen Night. And you can always stop through our home studio and gallery at 338 Baronne Street, or call us at (504) 529-3306 to place a commission.

THANK YOU to the entire New Orleans community for supporting the aspirations of the artists of YA/YA!
